We happen to live in a very image conscious world. People are always striving to look better, feel better, and essentially be better than everyone else around them. People will even take the "step on others to get to where they want to" route. We do not like those people, and by we I mean 99-percent of the general population think these type of people have deep internal issues. As in "wow that person has more issues than Vogue" (haha). Nobody likes those types in the business world, so do not ever take that approach. YOU, my dearest..are above that.
I have learned that in this "image conscious world", perception is everything. You may walk into a meeting with a Ph.D from Harvard, but if you show up looking like a slob, you may unfortunately be overlooked. Sounds silly, but trust me, I have seen this happen to people numerous times at the corporate office. To ensure that scenario never happens to you, I have provided some outfit inspiration and pulled some more affordable items for you to wear at any meeting you may have to attend.
My outfit here is timeless and elegant. It can be worn for a meeting and if you throw a black blazer on, you can even wear this to an interview. The dress is from one of my top work-wear designers, Karen Millen. I always get her dresses at Bloomingdales and let me tell you, they are so beautiful and impeccably tailored. To add in a different tone other than black and cream, I incorporated a bag that included a camel color and gold accents. With gold accessories being huge at NYFW this year, I have been obsessively incorporating it in my latest work attire. I kept my shoes simple and paired this look with a pointed-toe black pump.
