Life of a Professionista: Up All Day & Night

How do you wear a day to night outfit in the corporate office without looking like you just slaved away in the office all day? This question used to stump me until I switched up my mindset while shopping. Whether I am online shopping or in stores, I try to envision if I switched a few things around with an outfit, how I could potentially go about wearing it outside of work. Granted some things, like a suit, will scream "I just left my day job", but other items may be able to be converted with a few additional accessories. Also, buying multi-purpose clothing items are friendly on your wallet in the long run!

My favorite to convert are dresses as they are the easiest! Just add a scarf around your neck during the day (as pictured below) and later use the scarf as a shawl and let that neckline shine! Also, adding a big coat to cover up your sexy curves might also be a good idea during the day time. That is..unless you are into the whole fraternization thing. Take this advice from is not the greatest idea!

I have had my eye on this beautiful James Perse dress for quite some time. Since I made the dive to get it, I cannot tell you how many times I have used it. During Fashion Week with a pair of black pumps and a black clutch, on a date, to a celebrity-filled birthday bash with gold heels and red lips and even dressed it down here for a day time work outfit. Let's be honest here, how many times are you able to look in your closet and say you have worn an item in so many ways? It is all about changing your mindset and with this post (and future day to night posts) I will be showing you the best way nail this shopping habit. Side note about this dress, I love the "rouching" on the side! It really allows you to eat and drink whatever your little heart desires at happy hour and not worry about how your mid-section is looking afterwards!

I have listed all of the outfit details below and you can even click the links or "shop the post" section to get this look for yourself! I added some alternative options that are a tad bit more affordable as well.
