Rule #38: Girls in Hats Tend to be Proper and Rarely...

Just as an FYI, the title of this post is from the movie Wedding Crashers (for those of you who have been hiding under a rock). This proper girl in the big hat just got done with a LONG but incredible Annual meeting in downtown LA. A big thanks to the JW Marriott and the Omni Resorts for hosting our group. I had an opportunity to shake hands with the president, talk about the beauty of Badgley Mischka sequin dresses with our VP and the director (who I previously discussed idolizing in an older post) and I ended up wearing the same dress (great minds think alike)!

My team and I are so grateful this week went as smoothly as it did. We put in a lot of extra hours to ensure all of the marketing efforts for this meeting would be seamless. Our clients, as usual were so kind and appreciative, that it made all of the extra hours seem like it was nothing. Working in an environment when you feel appreciated for your efforts by your clients is such a big deal in the advertising world. For my Ad know what I mean!

Enough work talk, let's talk about my fab outfit I rocked on my stroll to Pershing Square in DTLA. It was a bit chilly during the day so I kept my ears warm with this fantastic outfit I found at H&M at their store on Madison Ave. in NYC. Another Madison Ave. find were these shoes I scored at Zara. If any of you have been to that store's location, you know what I am talking about. It is business chic HEAVEN!

My blazer is my favorite part of this outfit. The peekaboo sleeves make it seem as if you put your blazer over your shoulders. This blazer makes any work outfit look 10-times more elegant. It can be worn with a pencil skirt, trousers, or even on casual Friday with a pair of skinny jeans! The other cool part about this outfit is that I am wearing a crop top in the corporate environment. Whoever said you could not wear crop tops to work LIED TO YOU! It is all about the way you rock it, and here I styled it with a high-waisted skirt. To make this entire outfit into a night outfit, just throw a pair of high-waisted jeans/bandage skirt/leather shorts (whatever is your preference) into your big bag (as pictured) and you have yourself a day-to-night outfit. PS how cool is this bag? It reminded me of a Marni bag, but let's just say I did not pay for the price of a Marni bag for it.
