New York Fashion Week was spectacular and truly made me cringe at the thought of going back to southern California, until I remembered that there were two more weeks of runway shows at home I could attend. I combined both of these weeks for this post since they were so close in proximity.
At Fashion Island Mall in Newport Beach, a beautiful outdoor runway was developed to host shows for the different designers, such as Vince and Trina Turk. Vince was by far my favorite as it displayed their well-known rugged but chic styled pieces. I found that their clothes could easily be incorporated into business wear and transferred into night on the town wear.
In LA, I attended a few other shows, and even one night had to juggle running from DTLA to Hollywood to support a good friends charity runway show. The Day by Day show I attended in DTLA had an eclectic set of loungewear whereas the charity event hosted by Project Ethos had anywhere from bikinis to ball gowns.
My favorite event I attended as a whole was Glamour Magazine and Revlon's "Year in Color" event at the London Hotel. It was on the rooftop and the air was crisp, the champagne was flowing and the hordeurves were delightful. Later I ran into some of my PR gals in the lobby and we stopped by the Style Driven: 50 Star Styles event hosted by Cadillac and Who What Wear. This was an A-list event and I felt honored to even be around the different fashionista's in attendance, especially my style crushes, Nicole Ritchie and Rachel Zoe.
I must say, I thought NYFW was as good as it got, but LA/OC, you sure made my heart skip a beat!
